Me: "Is Daniel Cassandra Jones here?"
Student (girl): "Yeah I'm here."
Me: "Oh sorry, do you go by Cassandra?"
Student (girl): "No, it's Daniel."
And no, it's not pronounced like Danielle. It's pronounced Daniel. I'm sure I looked dumbfounded after she corrected me. I hope she wasn't offended.
I've noticed that for the school day many teenage girls look like they spend 2-3 hours on their hair and makeup, but then they will be dressed (or should I say clothed) in sweatpants, a baggy t-shirt, and one of those puffy marshmallow coats... many times of the camoflauge variety (oh dear). Which is fine, I am all for some comfort and I'm sure those poofball coats are warm and cozy. BUT. I am also for look-better-feel-better-do-better.... and for that applying to everything from the neck down as well. If I had shown up to class in fuzzy pants and a hoodie everyday, I would have been so sleepy all the time!
I know, harsh.
Speaking of being clothed, get a load of what my bottom half will be clothed in after today:

I was in Dillards last week & tried on a pair of Joe's Jeans on a total whim.. thinking, "I've got to see why these are so ridiculously priced, they can't be THAT different from Target jeans."
Let's just say they kicked all of the denim out of my Target/Gap/F21 jeans butts.
I tried on the "Muse" style, which is more high waisted and COMPLETELY FABULOUS. I stood there in the dressing room staring at my bottom and thought... really? I could never justify spending that much on a pair of jeans. Why are they so wonderful?
So I handed them back to the nice sales lady and came home & ebayed them. The thought of buying jeans on ebay creeped me out for some reason... and I couldn't find the fit/wash/size combo that I wanted.
Fast forward to the mall this afternoon with my sister.... we were in Dillards & I wanted to show her how awesome the jeans were. AAAAnndd I realized I hadn't spent my Christmas money from Andrew's grandparents. How convienent. After much debate, I bought those suckers. Yessss. I've never spent more than $50 on jeans... I feel so fancy. =)
