Four days and it will be exactly a month since my last post. Hm. Anyways.

So I read in a magazine (Self, September 09) that in order to lose 2 lbs. a week you must do 350 minutes of heart-pumping cardio a week. This has perplexed me and overwhelmed me ever since I read it. For so long I've been feeling like my 20 minute jog was really doing something, then they go and tell me that I need to double my jogging time and do it SEVEN DAYS A WEEK. So tonight I ran my two miles then came in and did my new Jillian Michaels DVD, which is 50 minutes long.

Listen. I thought I was gonna die right there on our living room floor. I'm not kidding. Also, I felt as though my entire evening had been spent working out. I love to exercise (scratch that: I love how I feel when the exercising is over), but come on now Self Magazine. Fa real? What's a bodily conscious girl to do with all of these lose-weight-tone-those-abs tips flying from all directions and each with a different spin? I guess I need to find out how to fit what I like to do to exercise into my life, while uping the anty (sp?) some, so I don't level off and get comfortable. But honestly, doing 50 minutes of cardio seven days a week/70 minutes five days a week (whaa??) sound plain ridiculous.

Phew. Enough about that.

i would rather give up about 500 or so calories a day rather than exercise that much...that's like an insane amount of exercise for the average person

get a Polar heart rate monitor... it tells you how many calories you have burned. It is great!!!
